Massage Therapy

Dr. Amanda Gaitaud is dedicated to helping patients with complex concerns. She completed a Master of Science degree in acupuncture and Eastern medicine with a specialty in orthopedics & pain management at Pacific College of Health and Science, and an advanced practice Doctorate in acupuncture and integrative medicine from Yo San University. She is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine.

Amanda received integrative medicine training at San Diego Hospice and Institute for Palliative Medicine, Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego Cancer Center, UCSD Free Clinic, and Chengdu Regional TCM Hospital (China). She has completed research on the physiological effects of acupoints, acupuncture meta-analyses, and application of psychometrics in traditional medicine. Amanda has been a licensed and board-certified acupuncturist, herbalist, and integrative Eastern medicine clinician since 2010.

Dr. Robert Pontecorvo Jr. is an orthopedic and pain management specialist with a background in trauma nursing, and additionally provides care for many other conditions including sports medicine, autoimmunity, neurology, and internal medicine. Robert received a Master of Science from Pacific College of Health and Science in Acupuncture and Herbology with a specialty in orthopedics and pain management, as well as an advanced practice Doctorate in internal medicine and healthy aging for chronic illness. He completed research on advanced diagnostics and integrative treatment for lupus and fibromyalgia.

Robert was introduced to acupuncture in 1997 by Dr. Adriana Wu, one of the original students of Dr. Tung in Taiwan who was renowned for pain management and acupuncture anesthesiology. After 4 years of training under Dr. Wu, he spent 6 months in Taiwan treating patients with acupuncture and myofascial release in a community setting often caring for 60-80 patients a day. Robert brings over 30 years experience in healthcare as a retired RN, science professor, and licensed and board-certified acupuncturist, herbalist, and integrative Eastern medicine clinician.

As the founder and clinic director of Inner Balance Medicine, Connie Schwartz is passionate about helping the community with natural solutions to improve pain, fertility and pregnancy, internal health issues, and support for patients going through oncology treatments. She completed her Master of Science in acupuncture and Eastern medicine with a specialty in orthopedics & pain management at Pacific College of Health and Science with continued training in women’s health, fertility, and pregnancy care.

Connie received integrative medicine training at Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego Cancer Center, and the UCSD Free Clinic gaining experience treating a wide variety of health issues. Prior to Inner Balance Medicine, she worked under an internationally-renowned Japanese acupuncturist treating thousands of patients in the greater Sacramento area.
